Governor Eric Holcomb announced Friday that Camp Atterbury will now be the National Rifle Association’s national marksmanship competition center.
Making his comments at the NRA convention over the weekend, the governor said the NRA will lease space at the camp and the state will upgrade several shooting ranges.
Camp Atterbury has hosted units from all branches of the military since it opened in 1942.
