The “Click it or Ticket” campaign is underway and law enforcement agencies statewide are gearing up for the summer driving season.
 According to Triple A, nearly 38 million people nationwide will be traveling during the Memorial Day holiday weekend, an increase of nearly 4 percent from last year.
 Peru State Police Public Information Officer Sergeant Tony Slocum says that officers will be on the lookout for those who don’t buckle up.
According to the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, unrestrained motorists are 10 times more likely to die in car and SUV crashes.  That figure is even higher in truck and van accidents.
