Marion man attacked, stabbed Friday morning

A 26-year-old Marion man was attacked and stabbed in the in the 2400 block of S. Adams St. Friday morning at around 5 a.m.
Victim Josh Rogers reported that he was walking home when an unknown man began talking to him and suddenly struck him in the back of his head, knocking him to the ground.
Rogers reported that the person or persons then kicked him several times in the stomach and struck him in the head multiple times.
Rogers reported that he may have lost consciousness for an unknown amount of time.
Marion General Hospital personnel arrived on scene and transported Rogers to the hospital. Rogers sustained multiple stab wounds to his torso and right forearm and lacerations to his head. Rogers was stabilized and transported via ambulance to a hospital in Fort Wayne for further medical care.
Rogers was unable to provide any identifying features of the suspect(s).
This is an active investigation.
