Large animal sanctuary proposed for Muncie

A nonprofit organization wants to build a 38-acre animal sanctuary in Delaware County that would give unwanted dogs and cats a home they deserve.
Grateful Rescue and Sanctuary plans is to house up to 1,300 dogs and cats, while helping them find a forever home.
The sanctuary would transform a piece of farmland on the west side of Delaware County Road 500-W into a veterinary clinic, hiking trails, a festival stage, a small retail village and more, said the Star Press.
But before the sanctuary is created it needs to be approved by the Metropolitan Board of Zoning Appeals.
