Do not get in Lake Michigan.
That’s what lifeguards in Michigan City are telling people today.
A Facebook post from Washington Park Lifeguards says the rip currents and chaotic nature of the water caused by the windy weather are “the worst they’ve ever seen.”
They’re asking you to not get into the water not only for your safety but the safety of all emergency personnel.
“We aren’t doing this to prevent you from having fun,” the post says. “We are doing it to prevent you from being swept away.”
