Carmel weighing ban on ‘saving spots’ for Fourth of July parade

If you want a seat at the Fourth of July parade in Carmel next year, you may have to get there early.
The city is considering a plan to ban the years-old practice of saving spots along the parade route.
Council President Jeff Worrell says people have taken saving spots to the extreme, he says people are laying down tents or tarps weeks ahead of the parade.
Worrell says Carmel wants to ‘reel things in’ before next Fourth of July.
