Residents irate following Indiana company spilling cyanide, ammonia into Lake Michigan

An Indiana steel company is apologizing after spilling cyanide and ammonia into Lake Michigan, killing thousands of fish in the process.
Officials with ArcelorMittal say a furnace issue led to the spill, but they didn’t report it until several days later. They finally announced the spill after the state Department of Environmental Management announced it was investigating all the dead fish.
Now some residents are irate, saying people spent days swimming in the lake without knowing about the toxic spill. Authorities say cyanide levels are slowly dropping to acceptable levels.
