Twenty citations issued for people failing to stop for buses in West Lafayette

People just aren’t getting the message about stopping for stopped school buses in the greater Lafayette area.
WFLI reports West Lafayette police have issued over 20 citations for people not stopping for busses — that in just the couple weeks now that school has been back in session.
A handful have also been given out by Lafayette police and the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department.
Officers in the area say the biggest excuse they get from people guilty not stopping is that they weren’t aware they had to stop on a four-lane highway with no physical median separating each side of the road.
