Madison-Grant Volleyball Team to honor ‘Bailey’s Buddies’

The Madison-Grant Volleyball Team will be honoring the family of Bailey Galloway with a fundraiser for Bailey’s Buddies at their home game against Alexandria- Monroe on Oct. 5 at 6 p.m.
Attendees are asked to wear purple to show their support and bring a new stuffed animal “stuffie” to donate to Bailey’s Buddies.
All students bringing in a donation will receive free entrance. Bailey Galloway was diagnosed with a rare brain disease called Metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD). Bailey made a powerful promise to help her friends and community by collecting and donating stuffed animals to sick children in children’s hospitals. Bailey’s family continues to honor her memory by keeping her promise through fundraisers such as this throughout the year.
Volleyball Head Coach Kayla Jump helped to organize this effort as well as previous fundraising as Bailey’s older sister was a student at Madison-Grant, “My daughter had to have a x-ray and she was really scared because I couldn’t stand there with her. The technician gave her a stuffed animal and it had Bailey’s tag on. We had already done a donation before that moment, but I felt a strong connection. My daughter is Bailey’s age. I felt like this would be something the players and community could get into and see the connection to someone we know.” Bailey’s Buddies comfort children all over the world, and Madison-Grant will help the effort continue as we honor her by collecting new stuffed animal donations at Saturday’s game.
