CDC: Elkhart County resident dies from EEE

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says a person from Elkart County has died from EEE.
EEE or eastern equine encephalitis is a rare disease transmitted by mosquitos.
The last human case in Indiana was in 1998. Approximately 5 to 10 human cases of EEE are reported nationwide each year.
One-third of human cases are fatal.
