BREAKING: Alumbaugh wins by large margin, Republicans take seven council seats

Jess Alumbaugh has secured his second term as Mayor of Marion after a race against David Homer and Bill Henry.
Bill Henry was also looking for his second term as an independent, while Alumbaugh ran as a Democrat and Homer as a Republican.
Unofficial numbers have Alumbaugh ending the night with 2,606 votes, while Homer has finished with 1,250 votes and Henry had 361.
City Council

Only one city council seat sat unopposed and Don Batchelor claimed that seat in District 5 for the Democrats.
For District 1, Republican Gary T. Fordyce, Sr. defeated, Democrat, Fred L. Troxell with 295 votes to 251.
In District 2, Republican Mike Cline had 915 votes, while Democrat Jessy Pearson-Cheney had only 409.
District 3 winner was Republican, Jim Brunner, who has already served three terms. Brunner had 365 votes, while Democrat, Paul Funches III had 210.
Democrat, Robin Fouce came out on top in District 4 with 400 votes to Republican, Brian Brand’s 181 votes.
In the final contested Marion City Council election, District 6 went to Republican, Deborah Cain, who secured her second term against Democrat, Nechelle Applewhite-Sanders. Cain had 285 votes, while Applewhite-Sanders had 171.
For your At-Large candidates, Republicans Brad Luzadder had 2092 votes, Brian Cowgill had 1997 votes and Steve Henderson 1795 votes.
All election numbers are unofficial.
