BREAKING: Rock unseats Leach for Gas City mayor

In a race for Gas City Mayor, Democrat Larry Leach was hoping for another term in office but was defeated by, Independent, Bill Rock.
Rock was elected with 1,079 votes, while Leach only received 765.
The Gas City Treasurer was up for election as well. Democrat, and incumbent, Terri Miller lost to Republican, Karen Wood. Miller had 834 votes and Wood had 1,011.
Ryan Gosset, Karen Pollen, and Minerva Jane Sickman have all been elected into Fairmount Town Council. Gosset and Pollen were both running as Republicans while Sickman ran as the only Democrat. They were also up against John B. Metzger who has previously served two terms. Gosset received 340 votes, Pollen received 314, Sickman received 253 and Metzger received 104.
Van Buren Town Council has also elected three members in tonight’s election. Jarret Caudill, who has served two terms, and Tony Manry have secured two spots for the Republicans, while Terry Dieckmann, of the Independent Party has secured the third. Thomas C. Birchfield III also ran as an Independent. Caudill had 96 votes, Manry had 63, Dieckmann had 79 and Birchfield had 16.
