MRCC students earn CNA certification

The Marion Regional Career Center’s Health Careers program has increased the CNA certifications within Grant County by 19 newly certified students.
MRCC Health Careers instructor Shevonne Peterson attributes the success to the hard work and dedication of the students.
“There is a lot of information for them to know and hoops that need to be jumped through in order to obtain this certification,” Peterson said. “I could not be prouder of these students.”
Peterson is in her second year as the Health Careers instructor at MRCC. The certified nursing assistant credential is one of several professional certifications that MRCC students can work toward in varying fields.
“I believe that MRCC teacher Shevonne Peterson and Amber Henry, preceptor, paved the way for success from the beginning of the school year,” MRCC Director Nate McNeely said. “Each day I would walk past the class and these students were hard at work learning techniques and skills on which the state would eventually test them.”
Anyone interested in taking MRCC classes should contact their high school counselor or McNeely for more information at (765) 664-9091.
