INDOT to host public hearing on SR 26 intersection in Howard County

The Indiana Department of Transportation will be hosting a public hearing regarding an intersection improvement project at State Road 26 and Park Road.
The hearing will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13 at the South Creek Church of God. The hearing will begin at 6 p.m.
The proposed project will increase safety at the intersection. It is scheduled for construction in 2021 and the estimated cost is $2 million.
In recent years, the volume of traffic going through this intersection has increased, which in turn has increased the number of crashes in the area.
From 2015 to 2018, there were 22 crashes in the intersection.
This project will add a traffic signal in the intersection, with left-turn lanes on all approaches.
At this time, there is no plan to close SR 26 during construction. Traffic will be allowed to flow during all phases of construction. Access to all properties will be available during construction.
If you are not able to attend the meeting, please visit the project website for more information.
