FSSI joins #GivingTuesdayNow in Global Day of Giving with new campaign

Family Service Society, Inc. will join the #GivingTuesdayNow movement on May 5 with a matching funds campaign.
“The COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing has created very tough circumstances for FSSI, as our care is provided in-person. We have become very creative and innovative in providing virtual visits, because losing touch with at risk children and the most vulnerable in our community, is not an option,” said Lisa Dominisse, President/CEO. “Funding is critical right now as there is uncertainty whether contracts and insurance will provide payment for the virtual care that we are providing. As an organization, we have committed that we will provide services for anyone that needs them, regardless of financial barriers. It is essential we still meet with clients, as losing contact can result in abuse or neglect or something much worse.”
Now, FSSI is participating in a matching fund initiative with Nonprofit Hub, Do More Good and Firespring on #GivingTuesdayNow, Tuesday, May 5.
This is a global day of fundraising created to respond specifically to the COVID-19 pandemic and the needs this crisis has created within our community. All dollars donated will receive a percentage match based on the total amount raised.
“At a time when we are all experiencing the pandemic, generosity is what brings people of all races, faiths, and political views together across the globe,” the press release stated. “Generosity gives everyone power to make a positive change in the lives of others and is a fundamental value anyone can act on. It’s a day for everyone around the world to stand together and give back in all ways, no mater who or where we are.
