State Rep. Vermilion named POWER Caucus president

State Rep. Ann Vermilion (R-Marion) was recently elected president of POWER, the Indiana women’s caucus working to improve the quality of life for all women and citizens of the state.
As president of the Political Organization for Women’s Education and Representation known as POWER, Vermilion will help lead the bipartisan group of female legislators providing a forum for working on measures introduced in the Indiana General Assembly.
“This organization empowers Hoosier women to work together on important issues on the state level or in their own communities,” Vermilion said. “I look forward to leading the POWER caucus in this next chapter as we focus on promoting education and career growth for women throughout the state.”
In addition to working on legislative matters, the POWER caucus also provides scholarships for non-traditional women students. Vermilion said the POWER scholarship focuses particularly on those who demonstrate a passion for giving back to their communities.
