Habitat for Humanity of Grant County Inc. (Habitat) announced Monday that Brittany Howey has tendered her resignation to pursue other opportunities effective this Friday, December 31, 2021.

“I have been grateful and honored to serve Habitat Grant County for the past 5 years, first as a board member and the last 18 months as the executive director.” says Howey, “This is an exciting time for Habitat as this leadership transition will create a powerful opportunity for Habitat to continue its trajectory into sustainable growth serving more families annually.  I am excited to hand the baton off to the next executive director and to continue watching Habitat lean into its vital work in the housing sector in Grant County.”

Board Chair Jesse Harrison has announced the posting of the executive director position on Habitat’s website as well as through the Grant County media channels to begin the search for Howey’s replacement.

Harrison comments, “Brittany will be greatly missed by the staff, board, and families alike and we thank her for her dedication to Habitat over the years.  In the near term the Habitat board will be conducting a search to find the new executive director.  During this transition period, it is our priority to find the best individual to lead, while still maintaining a stable and effective organization. We look forward to Habitat’s next chapter in continuing affordable housing opportunities in Grant County.”
