Even though it’s only mid-January, the state of Indiana has set a record for coronavirus infections this month. The Indiana Department of Health reports more than 195-thousand cases of the virus from January 1st through January 16th. The previous monthly high was in December of 2020. A record number of COVID-19 infections among students were also reported last week. Most people are being infected with the omicron variant of the virus, which is highly contagious.
