MCS to launch E-Sports League

Marion Community Schools is preparing to launch an E-Sports League.
At Tuesday night’s board meeting, board members heard an update about the new league, which will include 12 “super” computers with enhanced graphics cards, X-Boxes and Nintendo Switches among other devices.
The league would take place Tuesday through Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
In a recent survey, more than 300 students responded to a survey with interest in e-gaming.
Marion High School has also increased the number of college credits students earned over the last three years.
In 2016-17, MHS students gained 370 credits. In the previous year, students gained nearly 3,000 college credits.
MCS enjoys partnerships with Ivy Tech, IU, IUPUI, Indiana Wesleyan, Taylor University and Vincennes.
