A former Indiana mayor will find out how long he’ll spend in federal prison next month. Former Muncie Mayor Dennis Tyler was indicted on a count of theft of government funds. He’s accused of accepting a $5,000 bribe to favor a local contractor for excavation work. Tyler plans to plead guilty on November 10th, which means he could spend up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine. Six former members of Tyler’s administration and Muncie Sanitary District are facing multiple fraud charges and have signed plea agreements.
